LIGNIERES-SONNEVILLE:
In the heart of Grande-Champagne, this town bears witness to a rich past and still retains the traces of an unusual history. Lignières-Sonneville takes its name from the culture of flax going back to antiquity and today replaced by the vine. The municipality, animated by a constant concern for the preservation of its heritage, knew how to perpetuate and maintain its know-how.
We will draw your attention to 3 points:
1 – The castle of the seventeenth century surrounded by moats offers a green setting ideal for walkers.
2 – La Charmille and its park, former dependency of the castle, welcomes today the Little House of linen where you will discover the ancestral know-how of the weaving by the reconstitution of a workshop of the XIXth century.
3 – The church of Notre-Dame of the 12th century and its traditional houses which surround it draw with harmony a borough of character.
