From 21st to 30th March 2019
It’s the third edition of our Mars Planète Danse festival and it starts with the challenge faced by the pianist and choreographer Mié Coquempot, to transfer into movement the entirety of JS Bach’s uncompleted monument, The Art of Fugue; the event will take place the Gallia theatre in Saintes.
Then, the dance planet meets the circus planet. Plenty of opportunities for these two arts that have shared histories to enrich and stimulate each other and to open new horizons.
To celebrate this crossroads, we’ve invited Baro of Evel Cirk Cie to explore the subject of the next show for two weeks. At the end, dancers, acrobats and musicians will put on a finale in black and white for the start of the festivities in Cognac.
This celebration will continue with the aerial dancing of the spectacular Dökk, the dancing tightrope walker of the Porte 27 collective and the burlesque dancing of Güms in Stoïk.
At their sides, Eloïse Deschemin and Agata Maszkiewicz, two artists associated with the “Avant-Scène” will put on their creations: made in Cognac, se faire un NON and Still life.
And to finish, come and appreciate Anastasia’s energy and dance till the end of the night since “you can’t stop people dancing”*.
